I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend Leanne Marshall’s runway show for New York Fashion Week last month. The PR team was very welcoming and encouraged me to sit in the blogger section. We were tasked with taking photos to post live on instagram with the hashtag #lovelyleanne to promote the incredible collection. For those of you unfamiliar with Leanne Marshall, she is a talented bridal/eveningwear designer that hails from California. She was selected to be a contestant in Project Runway: Season 5. With with her impressive technique and eye for detail, she won the whole competition. Her dress collections have been featured in every New York Fashion Week lineup since 2008. Every year, she has the crowd awed by the elegance, modernity, and sophistication of her gowns. One of my favorite designs, in particular, from the 2016/17 line was the layered black gown with flirtaceous ruffles that composed the skirt and created an elegant cascade of material as the model walked down the runway. Leanne’s designs are sold in many fine boutiques around the country. If you live in New York, be sure to stop by her Leanne Marshall Showroom and Atelier – by appointment only. Since I was a little girl, I have had a fascination with beautiful gowns and dresses. If only I had known about Leanne’s work before I got married, I would have chosen one of her exquisite bridal gowns to wear to my own wedding. Please be sure to check out Leanne’s current collection at www.leannemarshall.com.
I was also fortunate enough to sit next two amazing ladies and lovely bloggers, Maria Murphy of ‘Tasty South Chic’ www.tastysouthernchic.com and Grace of “Color and Grace” www.colorandgrace.com. Both had traveled from Michigan and Tennessee respectively to attend New York Fashion week. I had never met Grace before, but I was already following her on instagram because I adored her sophisticated, modern and colorful style. It was Maria’s first time at New York fashion week and I couldn’t help but reminisce about my first time when I saw the gleam of excitement and passion in her eyes as the beautiful dresses sashayed down the runway. Maria’s sister and Grace’s husband were kind enough to take professional pictures for us. Lura, Maria’s sister, even offered her talented photography skills to take some of the street style shots in the above photo reel. I hope to collaborate with both Maria and Grace in the future – both are incredibly successful and amazing ladies.
I hope you have a great day!
